Today Apple released several updates for their OSes and some of their multimedia editing software. The OS updates include some important security patches, so I recommend updating as soon as you are able. The updates for their multimedia editing software are largely about faster exporting on Apple Silicon Macs and have a few other small refinements. Released today are:
- iOS 17.1.2
- iPadOS 17.1.2
- macOS Sonoma 14.1.2
- iMovie for Mac 10.4
- Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.7
- Final Cut Pro for iPad 1.3
- Motion 5.7
- Compressor 4.7
- Logic Pro for Mac 10.8.1
Updates for the media apps can be found in the App Store.
To update
- Mac: Click the menu > System Settings > General > Software Update. Apple Support Article HT201541
- iPhone, iPad: Open the Settings app > General > Software Update. Apple Support Article HT204204
- Apple Watch: First update your iPhone, then on your iPhone open the Watch app > General > Software Update. Apple Support Article HT204641
- Apple TV: Go to the Settings app > System > Software Update. Apple Support Article HT202716
- HomePod: Updates will install automatically. To push the update along faster see the instructions in Apple Support Article HT208247
- Vision Pro: Go to the Settings app > General > Software Update. Apple Support Article 118481
