Today Apple released software updates across all of their OSes. There are absolutely no new features announced, but these updates are full of bug fixes, security fixes, and refinements. They are likely some of the last updates we’ll see before Apple releases iOS 17 and macOS 14 in September or October, so I recommend everyone install these updates as soon as you can.
The releases today include:
- macOS Ventura 13.5
- iOS 16.6
- iPadOS 16.6
- watchOS 9.6
- tvOS 16.6
- HomePod 16.6
As well as the following security-only patches for older software:
- iOS 15.7.8, only for devices not capable of iOS 16: iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE (first gen), iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPod Touch (7th gen)
- iPadOS 15.7.8, only for devices not capable of iPadOS 16: iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2
- macOS Monterey 12.6.8
- macOS Big Sur 11.7.9
