Use Quicklook in unexpected places

Quick Look has some really handy hidden uses. In addition to getting a preview of files in Finder you can use it to take a quick look at:

  • files in Trash
  • items in your print queue
  • attachments in Mail
  • documents in open/save dialog boxes
  • spotlight search results (hover the mouse over the item rather than pressing spacebar)

Just in case you aren’t familiar with Quick Look, it’s a super fast preview function which is accessed by selecting a document in Finder and pressing the spacebar. This works for photos, music, videos, Pages Numbers and Keynote documents, and even Word and Excel files. It’s easily one of my favorite Mac features.
