Before visiting you for the first time, it helps to know the details of your computer. This isn’t necessary but it’s recommended so that I can arrive fully prepared.

About this MacThis system report will give the details of your computer and software, including your hardware and peripheral specifications, software versions, battery health, and system and network configuration. It does not include personal information such as passwords and documents.

  1. Click the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Choose About This Mac from the dropdown menu.
  3. Under OS X note the version number, which will be two or three sets of numbers separated by a period. Only the first two sets of numbers are needed for these instructions such as 10.8. In other words, if it is 10.8.5 you can ignore the .5 part for the sake of these instructions.

  1. Click the System Report button.
  2. From the File menu, choose Save.
  3. Save the document to a location that’s easy to find such as your Desktop.
  4. Send the file to me by email at jimmy@jimmytechsf.com.

10.7 – 10.8 – 10.9
