Multiple signatures on iOS 6 Mail

For those of us whose Apple products cross back and forth between our work and personal lives, we’ve long enjoyed the option of using different email signatures for different accounts on Apple Mail for Mac, yet when using our iPhones and iPads we’ve been stuck with the same signature on all accounts, often creating a signature that is generic enough to be used for each. With Wednesday’s release of iOS 6, this has changed. We can now set up a different signature for each account on iOS Mail.

Unlike Apple Mail on Mac, each account is limited to one signature, though this should be enough to meet the needs of most people.

How-to:

  1. Open your Settings app
  2. Navigate to Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Signature
  3. Switch to Per Account
  4. Enter the signature you want for each account. If you have 3 accounts and want two of the accounts to use the same signature, you’ll need to copy and paste. If you want bullets like I have in my example just hold the hyphen key down for a couple of seconds to bring up the menu.
